ਪੂਰਵ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਕਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਨੇਤਾ ਨਵਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਨਵਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਵਰਿੰਦਾਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾਨੰਦ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਨਾਲ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਤ ਜੀ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸਮਾਜ ਸੇਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਮੰਗਿਆ।
ਨਵਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕਰਨੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ’ਤੇ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਾਨੰਦ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਲਈ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਜਾਂ ਇਕਾਂਤ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜੋ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਜਾਂ ਪਦ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਹੀ, ਸੱਚਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਜਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਲਈ ਉਪਯੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਫਲ ਕਈ ਗੁਣਾ ਵੱਧ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਖ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੋਚਣਾ ਗਲਤ ਰਾਹ ਹੈ, ਜਦਕਿ ਸਮਾਜਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਹੀ ਅਸਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਹੈ।
